Heathrow Airport: Take the underground to King's Cross Station, then a No.73 or 476 bus to Essex Road.
Gatwick Airport: Take the Gatwick Express train to Victoria Station then a No.38 bus to Essex Road (or take the underground to Highbury & Islington).
Stansted Airport: Take the Stansted Express train to Liverpool Street Station then see below.
London City Airport: Take the London Overground Line to Canonbury Station then see below.
Luton Airport: Take the train to King's Cross Station then a 73 or 476 bus to Essex Road.
From London's main railway stations
St. Pancras International Station (Eurostar): Take a bus no 73 or 476 to Essex Road.
Euston, and King's Cross Stations: Take a bus no 73 or 476 to Essex Road.
Liverpool Street Station: Exit the station onto Liverpool Road and turn right. At the bottom of Liverpool Road continue to the right along Eldon Street which becomes South Place. Near the traffic light junction, outside Moorgate underground station, take a number 21, 76 or 141 bus to Southgate Road. It takes just 4 minutes to walk to the bus stop from Liverpool Street Station.
Waterloo Station : Take bus No 76 or 341 from Waterloo Road to Essex Road (341) or to Southgate Road (76). Or take the underground to Angel Station then see below.
Paddington Station: Take the underground to King's Cross Station then a No 73 or 476 bus to Essex Road.
Victoria Station: Take bus no 38 to Essex Road or the underground to Highbury and Islington.

From M1: Leave the M1 at Junction 2 and follow the A1 into London. This will bring you along Holloway Road.
From M40: Follow the A40 into London. This will bring you along Euston Road.
From M4/M3: Use the M25 to join the M40. This is an easier route into London.
From M2/M20/M23: Use the M25 to join the A2. Follow the A2, then the A102 through the Blackwall Tunnel. From the A102 follow signs for Hackney, then Dalston. At Dalston Junction continue straight on to Balls Pond Road.
From M11: Follow signs for West End. Take the A406, then the A104. Follow signs for Dalston. At Dalston Junction continue straight on to Balls Pond Road.

From Canonbury Station: This is our nearest station (London Overground Line) - just a few minutes walk. Turn right out of the station, left along St Paul's Road and right onto Essex Road. Ockendon Road is the 4th turning on the left.
From Angel Station: This is our best station (Northern Line - City branch). From the other side of Upper Street take bus no. 38, 56, 73, 341 or 476 to the last bus stop on Essex Road. This bus stop is labelled "Ockendon Road" and you will see our turning opposite the bus stop. These buses run along Essex Road about every minute!
From Highbury & Islington Station (Victoria Line): Cross the road and walk around the roundabout to St. Paul's Road. Take bus no. 30 or 277 along St Paul's Road to the junction with Essex Road. Walk along Essex Road. Ockendon Road is the 4th turning on the left.
From Essex Road Station: Cross over Canonbury Road and walk along Essex Road. You will pass a Tesco supermarket on the left! Ockendon Road is the 5th turning on the right.
By bus to Kandara
There are 11 bus routes near to Kandara:
On Essex Road bus routes: 38*, 56, 73*, 341* and 476. The bus stop is labelled "Ockendon Road" and you will see our turning opposite the bus stop.
On Southgate Road bus routes: 21, 76 and 141 from Old Street, Moorgate and the City of London.
On St Paul's Road bus routes: 30 and 277* from Highbury & Islington station. Bus stop near junction with Essex Road. Ockendon Road is the 4th turning in the left along Essex Road.
On Canonbury Road (near Essex Road Station) bus route 271 to Arsenal (Emirates Stadium) and Highgate.

Taxis and Minicabs
Black taxis are available to hire on request. The taxi is fitted with a meter which calculates the cost of your journey. We have found these difficult to pre-book for short journeys and can be expensive.
Minicabs are available to hire for any length of journey but must be pre-booked. Agree the price first before travel. This is then fixed no matter how long the journey takes. The nearest minicab company is available just around the corner from Kandara (on Essex Road) - telephone (020) 7359 3333.
